Oh my...this line is perfect for me because I love a great flakie polish and this collection includes FIVE of them. I was able to pick up all five of the polishes at my local Sally's. I have read around the internet that this polish line is hard to find or has been sold out in alot of places. Glad I went when I did!!

I am a terrible blogger and have not posted in forever! that is why I leave the blogging to you ladies and I just design jewelry instead.

I do have a few updates...so here it goes:

(1) My jewelry was worn by the gorgeous Katie Cazorla of the "Painted Nail" (and the great tv show the "Nail Files") to the Video Music Awards! I still can not believe that three pieces of my jewelry (necklace, ring and bracelet) walked down the red carpet! Big, huge, giant thank you to Katie for trusting me to design here some fabulous jewelry!

(2) Cult Nails Clairvoyant (formally known as Unicorn Puke) nail polish will be available on the website this weekend! For those of you who have not seen this amazing polish....here is what it looks like in jewelry:

OMG...Katie from the Painted Nail loves my nail polish jewelry!

While I was sitting at home reading everything I could about CosmoProf and tweeting with a few of the bloggers that were there experiencing it all (while being jealous and kicking myself for not going!)...I saw a tweet from Melissa @dailynail that she had just met Katie from @thepaintednail. I responded that I loved Katie's show "The Nail Files" and her nail polishes looked fabulous and then the most amazing thing happened to me!

I started to receive some really fun tweets from Krystal at @Polish_Galore. She was telling me that Katie Cazorla from the Painted Nail loved my jewelry. They all all had dinner with Katie later that night and look what they sent me:

Yes...that is Katie (from the Nail Files) holding a keychain I made for Jen from @thepolishaholic. Isn't Katie a knockout? (I am already planning some amazing designs using The Painted Nail polish (Katie's own line of nail polish) that I am buying this week.)

The next day Katie was wonderful enough to this tweet and I almost feel off my chair! Made my whole day (thank you Katie!)

Taking a Vacation!

I have decided to shut my Etsy store down for the month of July!!!! WooHoo

My 10 year old son Ryan has made the All Start team for baseball (so proud of you baby!!) and we have a very busy schedule with baseball.

I am excited to spend some quality time with my boys and hubby :0) I have not really taken any time off since I started my nail polish jewelry line. We are going to be taking a week off all together and going to Six Flags, Boston Museum of Science, Block Island, etc...

Taking last minute orders until the 29th and then I am off until August! All of my pending orders should be shipped out by the end of the week :0)

**keep in mind this is just a prototype. The "jumpring" that would attach the keychain to the piece would be bigger and stronger...I just do not have any handy for the photo.

Pneumonia is no joke ladies.....

Pneumonia is no joke ladies..... I have had Pneumonia before but never like this! I have done nothing but lay in bed and sleep for an entire week. I was diagnosed with pneumonia in both my lungs last week and ever since then it has a roller coaster of finding the right antibiotics to get me better.

I have been to the urgent care center twice for xrays, tests and breathing treatments (my oxygen level was only at 87 %!).

The moral of this my story is....if you are sick - take time off right away. Do not let it get worse and worse before you rest. Go directly to bed!!! If I had taken the time to rest when I first got sick, my pneumonia would never have gotten so bad and I would not have almost ended up in the hospital.

My doctor says I need to stay away from breathing chemicals for at least a few more days and hubby is going to get me a mask so the vapors won;t bother me. Then I will be ready to make more jewelry!

Thanks for all the sweet notes and emails....I really appreciate them!

Sadly, my Uncle Neal passed away this morning at the early age of 65. He had just retired and had many joyful plans to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer less than two months ago.

I will be leaving Thursday morning to travel out of town for the wake and funeral, we will be gone through Saturday (I think).

Due to my leaving town, I can not designs any new orders until next week. I need time with my family and time to grieve.

Thank you for understanding and please tell your loved ones you love them! Life is just too short and you never know what can happen.

Sorry I have not been around lately, I have been home sick with the flu....UGH. Still need more rest but I should have done this last week!

1. I am married to Bob Barker....yep go ahead and laugh...his name really is Bob Barker. When I met my husband, we both worked for a car dealership. When my future husband had a customer come in, I would page him saying "Bob Barker, come on down.....". I can not believe he asked me out after that!

2. Many years ago my husband was diagnosed with a serious illness and required very strong medication. We were told that the meds may make him sterile, so if we wanted another child - we had 2 months to make that happen. (talk about pressure!) 9 months later, our son Dylan was born :0) (thank you God!)

3. I have also designed jewelry using MAC pigments and made various MAC necklaces (using recycled MAC boxes) throughout the years.

4. I have been swapping on Makeup Alley since 2004...

5. I am allergic to bee stings, it is the only time you will ever see me running LOL!

6. My children are my world....

7. My name is Tracey...not Ginger LOL!

Here is a picture of what I have been busy doing this afternoon - filling my nail polish bottles!

I asked on Twitter if anyone would like a specific color but I did not get much of a response, so I started making the colors I thought would look best. Nfuoh flakies, Meteor Shower, Ruby Pumps, Frosty Meadows and Lunar Eclipse. I am still looking for colors suggestions :0)

I am trying to get them ready to list in my store on Monday.....although I have already sold some in private sales.

New Nail Polish Bottle Design :0)

I have been looking for years for something like this and there is nothing on the market. I happened to work for a manufacturing company (my day job) so I was able to finally just designed my own nail polish bottle! (Keep in mind that this is raw metal and has not been plated yet)

New Plating Finish - left one

It measures 1 1/2 inches high and 1 inch wide and can be used as a necklace, purse charm, keychain or large earrings. I placed it next to a quarter so you can have some size reference .

The plan is to fill the "well" up with whatever nail polish my customers would like. I asked on Twitter @gingerkittyd and most people responded that they would like to see these plated in silver or antiqued silver. So I will have them plated in both silver and antiqued silver and maybe throw a few gold ones in there as well.
I am not sure when this will be available in my Etsy store...but I will keep you updated.

What do you think? Is it something you would like? All opinions wanted, even if you hate it.

I am also proud to say that I worked with a die-maker and designed my own nail polish bottle necklace! It has a well in the "bottle" part of the necklace and I will be able to fill it with your favorite nail polish color! The pieces are being cast now and should be able to post pictures soon :0)

Blog Sale:
I mentioned last week on Twitter (@gingerkittyd) that I may sell some of my nail polishes in a blog sale soon. I have not forgotten, I just did not have time this weekend to go through all of my polishes and make a list. Yes, I am planning on still having the sale soon :0)

I never thought when I started my journey (years ago) of combing my love for nail polish and jewelry design - that my designs would ever end up in a magazine. This has far exceeded any goal I could have set for myself. :0)

I have loved looking at all the pictures and tutorials on how to watermarble your nails - so of course I wanted to try it with my nail polish jewelry line.

This proved to be much trickier than doing my nails....but I LOVE the finished product.

This could be used as a ring (if you love BIG rings - which I do) or as a pendant for a necklace.

I am going to experiment with some different colors soon :0)

Great new nail polish jewelry designs...

I have done some great new custom designs for my customers lately and I wanted to share a few with anyone who happens to read this blog.

I used China Glaze Dorothy Who? and Atlantis in these two designs. It is amazing how different the polishes look in each design, really different. (my fav is the one on the left)

My customers have been asking me for a bigger ring....well
here it is! I love this size and it certainly has the "wow" factor.

This necklace was made with the China Glaze logo and Atlantis nail polish.

These fabulous handstamped "mommy birthstone" necklaces are not in my Etsy store yet but I made these as Christmas presents for all my Mommy friends and they loved them! If you interested, just send me an email and I can make one for you.
